An image ad is one of the most common types of advertisement types that is put on a website by the site owner. Below are the steps to create a ad.


  1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard (www.example.com/wp-admin)
  2. Scroll down until you see Advanced Ads (it will show up on the left side menu)
  3. Hover over Advanced Ads and click on Ads
  4. Click on New Ad at the top of the page
  5. Enter the title of your ad. (This title is only visible inside the Dashboard)
  6. In the Ad Type box, select Image Ad
  7. In the Ad Parameters box
    1. Click on Select Image button to choose what image you want
    2. SIZE: After you select an image, the size will automatically appear. You may need to manually resize the image, but make sure you keep the ratio between the width and height the same. (Contact us if you need assistance with that)
    3. TRACKING: IF you have the Ad Tracking add-on installed, select from the drop down box default, disabled, enabled.
      Default Value: It will use the default settings from the Ad Tracking add-on settings.
      Disabled: You will not track impressions or clicks for the ad
      Enabled: You will track impressions, clicks, or both for the ad, dependent on what is in the Ad Tracking add-on settings.
      Note: If we set this plugin up for you, select default, and it will track impressions and clicks, unless we discussed otherwise.
    4. URL: Enter the URL of where the ad should take you when you click on it.
    5. TARGET WINDOW: This will decide how the link will open, when you click on it.
      Default: It will use the default settings from the setting page.
      Same Window: When a visitor clicks the ad, the ad link website will load in same window or tab, and will navigate the user away from the site.
      New Window: When a visitor clicks the ad, the ad link website will load in a new tab or window.
      Note: If we set this plugin up for you, select default, and it will open the link in a new tab or window, unless we discussed otherwise.
    6. ADD "Nofollow": This will decide if the link you clicked on will help with the other site SEO. Select default or no, unless you have specific instructions from the advertiser.

  8. In the Layout/Output box:
    1. POSITION: This will decide the position of the ad on the page. Select the center option, unless you know you want it left or right aligned.
      Do not check the Add Clearfix box below.
    2. MARGIN: This will add white space/ padding around the ad.
    3. CONTAINER ID: This is for advanced CSS needs, leave this blank unless you have advanced CSS needs
    4. CONTAINER CLASS: This is for advanced CSS needs, leave this blank unless you have advanced CSS needs
    5. ENABLE DEBUG MODE: Keep this unchecked, unless you know what you're doing
  9. Don't worry about the other areas on the page.
  10. In the Publish box:
    Click Save Draft if you want to save this, without publishing it and come back to it later
    1. Visibility should be set to Public
    2. If you want this published live immediately, you can keep this as Immediately. If you want to schedule this ad, click edit and enter the date and time (in 24 hour/military time) that you want the ad to go live on
    3. Click the box for Set Expiry Date if you want the ad to automatically be taken down after a certain time and date.
    4. Click the Publish/Schedule button when you are done making the ad
  11. After you click the Publish/Schedule button, you will see a message saying "Ad Saved" at the top of the page
  12. Select where you want the ad to be displayed, by single clicking on the ad placement. If you hover over an existing placement, you will see the full name appear in the hover text box.
  13. Once you have selected the ad placement you are finished and will see this message:
  14. If you need to adjust the placement of the ad, Click on the "Adjust the placement options" button, otherwise You are done!
